3 Clutter Tips That Work
There are many people that find themselves living with things that they don’t recognize. This happens often with clutter, and the clutter monster can sneak up on you and take over your house before you realize it. Many people live with at least some clutter, and they get used to the piles laying here and there and soon they don’t even recognize that they are there any longer. The problem is that clutter, even if you are not acknowledging it, seems to take away some of the comfort of your home, and keeps you from relaxing as you really should. If you find yourself needing to shed some clutter then here are some clutter tips that can help you to fix the problem.
1. Stop, Look and Listen - Before you begin your clutter removal project, make sure that you take the time to evaluate what your goals really are. Some people are happy just removing the piles of clutter, others want to keep some of the stuff, but organize it. By having a game plan before you ever begin you will find that you are able to accomplish more in a shorter period of time.
2. Pick a Beginning Location - Most people start somewhere in the middle and attack the clutter from all sides. It is much better if you pick a spot in the room, the entrance to the room is best, and work your way around the room like a wave. This will give you the benefit of an organized effort that is structured and you can always look behind you for some motivation by seeing what you have already accomplished.
3. Toss it - If you don’t need it, toss it. Some things have sentimental value that can’t be replaced, but other things just are there because we have had them so long that we don’t even recognize that they are there. Try to shed everything that you don’t need, such as old magazines and trinkets that sit on shelves with no real meaning.
