Internet Marketing Tips - What To Look For In A Copywriter
If you’re an Internet marketer and you’re creating your own products, unless you are an excellent copywriter and can do it yourself, you’re going to need to find a copywriter to do your sales page for you. The question is, what do you look for in a copywriter other than just the fact that the person can write good copy, as that should be a given. This article is going to give you three things that you should look for in a copywriter when you decide to hire one for your own copywriting assignment. Hopefully, after reading this, you’ll have a better idea of who to hire for your next job.
The first thing you want to look for is examples of previous work that the person has done. I don’t care how well he writes to you in a newsletter or email. You want to see how his writing translates in the copy he writes. You also want to ideally see examples of his work in the niche that you need copy written in. The reason is because not every copywriter writes well in every niche. Some copywriters do have specialties. If he has no experience in your niche, there is no guarantee that he can write copy for it.
The second thing you want to look for is proof that the copy that was written actually converted for the customers it was written for. Now, I will admit that some customers are going to be reluctant to share this information, but a good copywriter will have it written into his agreement that if the copy converts, testimonials will be provided showing the conversion percentage and the money earned. This way, you’ll have a better idea if the copy being written for you is going to sell your product.
The third and final thing, and probably the most important, is you want to look for a copywriter who has a reputation of being dependable and meeting deadlines. If you need a sales page in two weeks and the copywriter you approach says he can have it done in two weeks, you want to make sure that his reputation says that he delivers on time. This is easy enough to check by looking up his name at the search engines. Most people, if they’re either pleased or displeased with somebody’s service, will post reviews. If you see a number of negative reviews, you might want to keep away from that copywriter.
These are basic things you want to look for in a copywriter. Notice I said nothing about price. There is a reason for that. I have found through my own experience that you get what you pay for. This is especially true when hiring a copywriter. The good ones will charge more for their services. If you can afford them, go with them. Your bottom line will thank you for it.
To YOUR Success,
